Councillor Jenny Palmer, Chairman of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, recently welcomed Mr Hanif Lalani, Northern Ireland Investment Ambassador for India, to the City of Lisburn to discuss the City’s investment proposition. Mr Lalani met with representatives from Lisburn City Council at the premises of local business Arcatech, with Managing Director Mr Terry Simpson also attending. The meeting was another significant step in developing Lisburn’s economic reputation and position in the global market.
Councillor Jenny Palmer said, “I am delighted to welcome Mr Lalani to our City, the first Council in N. Ireland to host such a visit, and I thank him for taking time out of a busy schedule to engage with us. Lisburn City Council is currently refining and honing the City’s inward investment proposition so that it can be presented to a worldwide audience, and I believe that Mr Lalani has a lot to offer both the City of Lisburn and local companies in terms of his expertise, knowledge and network of investment contacts across India. I look forward to further strengthening our links with Mr Lalani and to taking up his kind offer of providing ongoing advice and support to local companies keen to explore investment opportunities with India.”
Mr Lalani says: “I was delighted to visit Lisburn and to have the opportunity to hear and see the transformation taking place in the city. It is clear that the city has many of the factors that potential investors find attractive and these will be complemented by current investments.
“I was also encouraged by the Council’s very strong commitment to economic development and, in particular the creation of its own unique proposition for inward investment.
Invest NI has been working closely with the Council on this plan and both they, and I, will provide whatever support we can to help bring this proposition to the attention of Indian corporations with potential investment projects.”
