Lisburn City Council
European Union Structural Funds Building Sustainable Property

Lisburn ... The city continues to attract investment because of excellent commercial property opportunities, a young skilled workforce, world class infrastructure and high tech communications.

A winning advantage over other areas in N.Ireland is the availability of development land for new investors. This includes a number of high profile industrial land banks for future industrial development located at Knockmore Industrial Estate, Springbank Industrial Estate, Blaris in West Lisburn and the 360 acre site at the Maze.

The Belfast Metropolitan Plan, a strategic plan for future land use within the City, has identified in excess of 100 hectares of land for new employment and industry opportunities up to 2015 throughout the City.

Investor Assistance

The City of Lisburn offers a highly attractive and competitive package of financial incentives, recruitment and training, R&D and other development support tailored to each company's needs.  Companies will have ready access to a broad range of funding options as well as a developing venture capital market.

'Montupet (UK) Ltd invested in Northern Ireland in 1989 and established a manufacturing facility within the Lisburn area.  Our choice was based on the availability of a site which met our immediate needs and our expansion plans; the availability of both a skilled and a semi-skilled workforce; the benefits of having two good universities locally, producing high calibre graduates; and support from both Invest Northern Ireland and Lisburn City Council.  Since 1989 Montupet has invested over £100m in capital equipment at the Lisburn Dunmurry plant and created over 1000 jobs.'
